BUSHIDO // Bushido is sake, in a can, and it can be enjoyed anytime – not just sometimes when you go out for sushi. “Bushido” means “the way of the warrior” in Japanese. This inspired the insanely talented Karl Hebert to give the brand a bold, vibrant, cool af look while I helped further develop the tone and attitude of people conquering a night out on the town. The Instagram-forward campaign helped lead new fans and followers to the brand – Kanpai! (that sorta means “cheers” in Japanese and, like many things, is way cooler than the English version.)

THE PERENNIAL BUILDING // What if a building could be more than just a building? The Perennial is a 45-story vision set to take shape in downtown Austin in 2025. It’s not just offices, it’s restaurants, retail, it’s part of the community. All built from biophilic design principles (that is, incorporating elements form nature.) Working with Unfettered, my partner Daniel Burke and I wanted to do something more than they industry-standard hype video – we wanted potential buyers to experience the serenity and flow of the structure itself. We teamed up with MengesPost, and showcased the journey of a leaf riding on the wind throughout the building. And for the details, we partnered with the talented designers at The Graphic Standard to bring it to life online. The package included a dynamic site, investor videos, targeted social, and more. And if you have a spare few million to invest in commercial real estate, by all means: perennialatx.com

CRIQUET APPAREL // Criquet is a vintage golf fashion company based out of Austin – and yes, that sounds like a very Austin thing to say. But it’s more than apparel, it’s an ethos. It’s for life on the 19th hole, which is what the video below lays out. No, I didn’t start the brand – that’d be Hobson and Billy, and you should definitely swing by their shop – but I did help them develop an online persona and a consistent series of blog posts (now lost in the event horizon of the old Internet.) A friend described the voice as that of an amiable bachelor, sipping a scotch while on a raft in a pool. Maybe a cross between Bob Odenkirk and Ty Webb, if I’m two Macallans in and being generous? Anyway, barkeep…? [rattles ice cubes in the empty glass]
